Shattered

November 16, 2015

Eleven-Year-Old: I could say her glasses “shattered.” No, wait. I already said that.

I could say they “broke,” instead of “shattered.”
Me: It’s not the word. It’s just odd, because there doesn’t seem to be any reason why it happens.
Eleven-Year-Old: It makes things more dramatic. Kid’s don’t question these things. That’s why it’s a kids novel.
